Management of Indian Trust Assets (OST)

The Office of the Special Trustee for American Indians (OST) oversees financial and administrative management of Indian trust assets. These assets include trust land, natural resources, leases, rights-of-way, revenue rights, and other income-producing interests held in trust by the U.S. government for tribes and individual Native Americans.

Key Functions

  • Collecting and managing revenue from leases, permits, resource sales, and rights-based agreements
  • Investing trust funds and maintaining accounts
  • Providing transparent accounting and quarterly statements
  • Disbursing income directly to tribal beneficiaries
  • Ensuring federal fiduciary oversight of commercial and resource-based activities

Why This Matters for G&Z

OST’s structure gives Garland & Zhang and its partners a transparent, federally managed foundation for projects involving tribal lands, resources, and revenue-sharing models. This reduces risk, enhances stability, and supports long-term industrial and infrastructure strategy.
